how to use the word “y” :
“y” means there. It will always jump back one word.
For example : I love town. I go there every weekend.
J’aime la ville. J’y vais le weekend.
See the way the “y” jumps back before the “vais” ?
It should be “je y vais”. But “y” is treated as a vowel in French! So because of the two vowels, we drop the “e” in “je” – j’y vais.
Now you try this one :
I love town. We go there every weekend.
