Using the subjunctive in messages and diary questions….
The subjunctive clearly impresses the examiner – so try to use it a few times in your written work. I have already shown how to use it in your opinion pieces ( see Tip of the Week #1). A lot of LC students are trying to use it in messages and diary work, so I want to show you how to use it properly!!
So let’s take a look at using it in messages / diary questions :
“je doute que ce soit vrai” : I doubt that this is true. “Je doute que” is one of the phrases that takes subjunctive.
Another phrase that takes subjunctive is “bien que” : even though.
How do you say : “even though this is expensive” .
