Tip of the Week #3

Using the subjunctive in messages and diary questions….

The subjunctive clearly impresses the examiner – so try to use it a few times in your written work.  I have already shown how to use it in your opinion pieces ( see Tip of the Week #1).  A lot of LC students are trying to use it in messages and diary work, so I want to show you how to use it properly!!

So let’s take a look at using it in messages / diary questions :

“je doute que ce soit vrai” : I doubt that this is true.  “Je doute que” is one of the phrases that takes subjunctive.

Another phrase that takes subjunctive is “bien que” : even though.

How do you say : “even though this is expensive” .

First correct answer is in with a raffle ticket for the 50 euro raffle!

A la prochaine !
