The SOS Programme : Seminars + Online Support Leaving Cert Programme

We are thrilled to announce 2 extra facilities that we are providing free of charge to all of the Dublin Workshop students :

1. Sean, a student who completed the Dublin Workshops last year and obtained 615 points will come along to the first workshop to give a short 10 min presentation on Study Skills. He will also give FB live streaming sessions on Study Tips / Tricks to ensure all students remain focused and study the correct way to maximise time and effort. We run the same facility in Cork with former EF students so its fantastic that we can now extend this to Dublin Workshops.

2.  We have uploaded all of our content onto our Quizlet App – where students can download the content and practise the material at home on a PC or on their phones while on the go.  A fantastic way to stay motivated and to learn the content effortlessly.

As you may know, our Leaving Cert students in Cork have obtained the highest grades in the country in French for the past 16 years.   This year is no different –  while 5.6% of students obtained a H1 nationally, over 30% of our students obtained this grade.  This is due to the smart no-nonsense approach we take in preparing our students for the exam as well as the fantastic learning methods we have developed over the past 21 years in the grinds industry. Due to the huge demand around the country from our followers on Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook we will be continuing our Dublin Workshop series during the 2017-2018 academic year ( Now renamed the SOS Programme).  This programme is a complete support system where students receive 3 seminars along with a series of 8 exclusive Facebook live streaming lessons and a 24 hour Facebook messenger facility. The three part series will be complemented with exclusive Facebook Streaming Videos to ensure students have regular contact with the course director, Natasha Lynch. The programme also will include access to our Quizlet App – where much of the content has been uploaded so that students can revise and practise the course content on the go.

The programme includes online support from October 2017 right through to the LC French exam and online Facebook live streamings to practise what has been covered in each workshop.

Topics to include :

How to complete a perfect Reading Comp; How to studying for the Listening exam effectively;

Oral : we will select themes that we feel could come up in the oral exam that could be challenging for students and provide exclusive material to the students attending.  These will be decided closer to each workshop and we will take into account requests from students attending. We will also share exclusive tips and tricks on how to WOW the examiner in the oral exam to guarantee maximum marks.

Written : Diary and Opinion Pieces (Qu’en pensez-vous style questions) will be tackled during the programme. Exclusive content will be shared at the workshops and then practised during the Facebook live streamings to ensure that students have grasped everything. We will NOT include letter-writing or emails as these questions are marked harder following the Chief Examiner Reports from the Department of Education.

All students will receive seminar handouts and packs with all content included – exclusive oral and written material; worksheets to be completed on the day and at home to perfect the structures taught; exclusive tips including how to cut down learning quickly, how to maximise points in the Language and Communication part of the written paper, and how to study effectively to ensure students reach their potential for June. We will show students how our material can complement what is being taught in school to ensure that time is wisely spent learning school material.  We will equip each student with skills in knowing how best to manipulate the material they have already learned to get most marks. This is the smartest approach to the paper.

All those participating will be invited to join an exclusive Essential French SOS Facebook Page.   On this page we will hold a series of 8 Facebook live streaming videos to further enhance the programme and material taught. In keeping with the learning community we have fostered in Cork, students are encouraged to share and swap study tips in different subjects.

The seminars and Facebook live streamings will be presented by Natasha Lynch, BCL, MBS, Director and Founder of Essential French.

FEEDBACK FROM PROGRAMME 2016-2017

I would highly recommend the Essential French Programme to everyone.  After the 2nd workshop in Dublin my grades went up by 30% . The programme is worth more then the price offered and really gives you confidence with the French language in all sections from the oral, aural and written. They help you with all topics that come up in the test and give you information on how to use basic sentence for all different topics and essential tips on how to get top marks. They stick to the course and there’s no waffling it’s just straight to the point Again the programme really paid off and walking into the French exam on the day you will feel so much more confident.

Being from Leitrim commuting to Dublin, I found this programme really worth it! Already having a good level of French I still feel I wouldn’t have been able to do the French exam without Essential French, the workshops were totally exam focused unlike the syllabus we learn in school which really boosted my confidence going into the exam!
Chauntelle Mulvihill Ferrell, Co Leitrim

I completed the Programme when I was a 5th year student. As a student who struggled with French in school I thought I could get ahead with the course to decrease the stress in LC year. I could not recommend this Programme enough. Natasha was extremely helpful throughout the year in all aspects and was so enthusiastic to connect with us all as students. Several times during the year I messaged Natasha looking for help and how quickly and useful the responses were! We received excellent personal content for our oral exam. Now starting LC year I couldn’t be more delighted that I took part. I believe that every student who completed the Programme with me would agree that the support that Natasha and the EF team gave us in answering our individual needs was so helpful and appreciated.

Booking the Dublin workshop was the best decision I made in 6th year!  Along with the workshops Natasha is always there to help online too. French was by far my weakest subject but it turns out that French was probably one of my strongest when it came to the exams. I was so confident going in knowing that the material that was given could be used in every aspect of the exam and that nothing was suited to just one piece! Coming from Monaghan, I had a 2 hour journey ahead of me but it is 100% worth it! Natasha’s method is all about not over complicating French and reusing what you already know! My oral went swimmingly and I could see my examiners eyes widen with the phrases I had which were completely unique and I knew nobody else in my year had! Going to the EF workshops lightened my workload and raised my grades while having the craic along the way! I would highly recommend any 5th or 6th year who is struggling or wanting to get top marks in French to get in touch and book their place!!

Doing the Dublin programme was the best decision I’ve made. What makes the programme so great is that it caters for all levels of French. The workshops are jam packed with quality information and Natasha doesn’t fail to keep us on our toes for 4 hours. It was also a great chance to meet other people from around the country. I was the only one coming from Tipperary but I was very quickly eased into this friendly environment. Natasha also gives a huge amount of support with Facebook live streams and exclusive content. This programme has the potential to improve any student, whatever your standard might be. They were really worth it!

The Essential French programme provided focused, comprehensive and intensive learning aimed specifically for maximisation of exam results. I found the travelling time from Kerry was worth while because boosted my French ability and complemented the work done in school.

The Dublin Programme was amazing! And I’m not just saying that! Natasha’s enthusiasm for French and her comical nature has made the three french workshops really interesting and informative! You not only get they three Workshops, but throughout the year, you receive private support with Natasha through Facebook as well as livestream’s specifically recorded for the Dublin gang! I would highly recommend the Programme to anyone, no matter your level of French!
Cian Conroy, East Glendalough School, Wicklow Town

This Programme was intense, unbelievably helpful and…life-saving! Even after the first workshop, I felt so much more prepared for the exam. The content is brilliant – especially the content for the oral. Natasha was always a Facebook message away which was really helpful.(especially the night before the exam!) The live streamings were great and helped me constantly remember what Natasha told us in the Workshops. I recommend them highly and urge anyway to go !
Seán, Dublin.

Possibly the best thing I’ve done outside school for my exams. The support between Facebook live streaming, and private messages between Natasha and I was phenomenal! The workshops gave me a new passion for French, and Natasha’s attitude really made me driven to do well in not only French but my exams across the board! I’d recommend this Programme to absolutely anyone!! Traveling to Dublin may seem like a deterrent, but the course is genuinely worth it!! Plus the time on the train meant I could study on my way.
Seán Hayes, CBS Naas, Co. Kildare

“The programme was really good for getting exclusive and unique material. Everyone in my class learned exactly the same phrases and paragraphs for the oral so it was nice to be able to go in and say something interesting to the examiner. I’m really glad I did it”
Patrick Eccles, Portmarnock Community School, Dublin

I had heard of Natasha and the EF Team through Facebook and immediately followed them on Snapchat. The daily tips and tricks were so helpful and kept me up to date on a little French everyday. I did not hesitate to book when I heard about the Dublin Programme as I was so jealous of anyone living in Cork who got to attend full time! Natasha was so helpful from the get go. Not only did the workshops provide us with a full view and understanding of the French paper, but we were free to ask Natasha any questions of any grammar, sentence structure or oral paragraph we had day or night!
Ruth Fagan, Co. Meath.
